Homebased Freelance Transcription Job

Freelance Audio Transcription

I was browsing through the internet searching for a job I could do online when I came across Scribie. I found out that Scribie  is an audio  transcription outsource. The company provides service to convert audio files into text and they are hiring home-based freelance general transcribers online to do the job. They pay $1 for every 6 minute audio file transcribed

I was hesitant at first but I did some research about the site and the company. The requirements were simple too. They only require you to have fast typing skills, good comprehension of english language, your own computer with internet connection and a verified Paypal account, so I decided to give it a shot since it's free to apply.

I applied online and after a couple of hours I was e-mailed that I was rejected. Then I read through Scribie's FAQ page that they mostly reject applications because of unverified paypal account. I forgot that my paypal account was still undergoing the verification process at that time.

For a moment, I thought there wasn't any chance for me but then as I continued reading, Scribie states they allow applicants to re-apply. So I waited until my Paypal account was completely verified. After a week I deleted my previous application and tried to apply again for the second time. After a couple of hours right after I submitted my application, Scribie e-mailed me saying that they accepted my application and  sent me a list of test audio files from which I need to pick one to transcribe. Most of the files had background noise so it was a bit challenging but I managed to transcribe the file that I selected by following the guidelines and the sample transcription available in the site. Using Express Scribe helped a lot too. It's a transcription tool that you can download in Scribie's site as well.

Before I submitted my test transcription, I reviewed it several times making sure I did not violate anything in the guideline. After I had submitted my work, I thought it would take days or weeks before I was going to receive a response from them but to my surprise a couple of hours later, Scribie e-mailed me confirming  that I passed the test! I was paid $1 for the test audio file that I just  transcribed. I was so happy I tried for the second time!
